The 88th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will honor the best films of 2015 and is scheduled to take place on February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre.
The Nominations and our predictions for the winner are the following.
BEST PICTURE:
This year many great pictures were produced. many of them have made it to the final nominees of the Oscars. Who will win? Well, we have to wait to see that. The nominees for the best picture are:
1. The Big Short
This picture has some big showbiz names in it. The like of Brad Pitt and Cristian Bale have casted for this movie. With an IMDB rating of 7.9, it surely is a contender for the award.
2.Bridge of Spies
The story revolves around a U.S. pilot who is captured by the Soviet Union during the cold war. A lawyer in New York tries to save him. The movie has an IMDB rating of 7.7 and is none less to any other nominee.
3.Brooklyn
A young Irish woman looks for her future in America as she falls for an American man in the 1950s. The film has a strong rating of 7.6. Saoirse Ronan has played the lead role in the movie.
4.Mad Max: Fury Road
The human civilization has collapsed and after many years, a person enslaves the survivors inside a desert. The film has the highest IMDB rating so far That is 8.2.
5.The Martian
One of the strongest contenders, The Martian is a masterpiece directed by Ridley Scott. It features Matt Damon in the lead role. The movie plot is such that Matt Damon is left alone on Mars by a group of fellow astronauts who think he is dead after a terrible storm. The story is based on his rescue. It has an IMDB rating of 8.1.
6.The Revenant
Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT IS OUR WINNER. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of a man lost in the jungle after he is left behind by his fellows. He is attacked by a bear which leaves him gravely injured. The movie has an IMDB rating of 8.2.
7.Room
A woman and her 5 year old son experience outside world for the very first time after being held captive for several years. This movie has the highest IMDB rating in the Oscar nominees of 8.3.
8.Spotlight
The last nomination for the best picture is Spotlight. A team of journalists investigates allegations against a priest accused of molesting more than 80 boys. The film has a rating of 8.2.
BEST ACTOR:
The following actors have been nominated for the best actor award for 2016. It is one of the biggest awards to be awarded at the event and is surely the most anticipated.
1. Matt Damon For The Martian
Matt Damon has done an amazing job in his new film. He has surely made a mark in the in the list of the top actors this year. Matt Damon plays the role of an astronaut stranded on Mars after a team of fellow astronauts leaves him there. A terrible storm hits Mars while the team is working there. Matt Damon, Mark Watney in the film, is hit by an antenna and is thought dead by his teammates. He is then rescued by NASA there. The story is based on his incredible surviving struggle
2. Leonardo DiCaprio For The Revenant
LEONARDO IS THE WINNER FOR US. He has shown his absolute brilliance in this movie. The guy is attacked by a bear which leaves him gravely injured in the forests. He struggles to keep himself alive in the icy cold and wild environment.
3.Bryan Cranston For Trumbo
Bryan Cranston has played the role of a successful screenwriter. In 1947, he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. Dalton Trumbo is counted in the elite of Hollywood due to his talent.
4. Michael Fassbender For Steve Jobs
Michael Fassbender plays the role of the famous Steve Jobs, who doesn't need any introduction. The film is based on the life events of Steve Jobs. Michael performs his duty brilliantly. The plot revolves around the various events that occurred at Apple Inc. during Steve's regime and how he handled them. What makes Steve Jobs great? Well you have to watch the movie for that.
5. Eddie Redmayne For The Danish Girl
The Danish Girl is a romantic drama film. Eddie Raymond plays the lead role in the movie. He plays the role of a popular landscape artist. The film has received some criticism for its inaccurate portrayal of historical events but that doesn's affect Eddie's acting. Does it? Eddie Redmayne acts as a woman in the story aswell.
