Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Features and Review

The Latest Update on Android is here. Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The world's most popular and the most common mobile operating software has recently come up with its latest update Android 6.0 marshmallow, the successor of Android 5.0 lollipop.

Google came up with a the Android version 6.0 on September 29th along with 2015 Nexus devices. Marshmallow basically focuses on improving the overall user experience of Lollipop. Not many users were satisfied with Android Lollipop and were anxiously waiting for the new update.

Marshmallow's Home Screen:

The home screen of the new version is primarily the same as it was in the previous version. Here is a screenshot of it:
The lock screen also has a similar look to Lollipops's lock screen.

Voice search:

The Voice shortcut is directly placed on lock screen.
The voice search of the new version has a new look. You can directly access it from the lock screen as shown in the picture. The voice search icon has replaced the dialer in this respect.

App permissions:

Google is now catching up with apple by bringing in a new feature of app permissions. While Iphone had it for years, Android 6.0 also has it now.
Some basic app-permissions are still granted by default but you have to choose which features the particular app can access when it attempts to use them for the first time.

Finger Print Scanner:

Android Marshmallow introduces finger print scanning via the Finger print API. The new Nexus devices now come with a fingerprint scanner on them. It can be used to make payments when you buy apps on the play store as well as for unlocking the lock screen.

Text Selection and Translation:

Marshmallow also offers some cool features for text selection which have been clumsy in the previous versions. You now have the option to translate the selected text right from the selection menu.

The Final Verdict:

Marshmallow is a lot better than its successor Lollipop. It is a refinement of Google services and makes them easy to use. Android has improved in the sense of security and battery life.  But there is still a long way to go.
What other features are you waiting for? Does Marshmallow live up to your expectations? Leave your thoughts in comments below.
