Which one is the best operating system for your PC? Is it the latest windows 10? Or the previous version? Here are the pros and cons of the latest Microsoft operating system, which they claim to be the best.
Pros of Windows 10:
Microsoft Windows 10 comes with a lot of features. Some of these are the following:
- A single version of an application which you download from the windows store will run on any device.
- Microsoft has introduced a new 'Continuum' feature which allows you to connect a phone or a tablet to a monitor or a keyboard and use it like a PC.
- Windows 10 has brought with it the DirectX 12 version which is a must have for the gamers. The previous versions of windows 7 and 8 have DirectX 11 and will never upgrade to DX 12.
- Windows 10 has a very user friendly interface. It has explained all the features in it very clearly and it is ease to learn the new innovations in it.
- Microsoft has said goodbye to the old classic Internet Explorer browser and have introduced a new, swift browser which they call Microsoft Edge. This browser has a faster speed and better interface.

- The security features in Windows 10 have improved. The 'Device Guard' in this windows has the feature that if it is compromised, a remote version can clean up the malicious soft wares.
- The next feature is 'Windows Hello' which gives you independence from passwords. You can unlock your device by facial recognition or fingerprint scanner. Although you will need hardware support for this on your device.
Cons of Windows 10:
When it comes to cons, consider these disadvantages:
- Windows 10 has a lot of bugs in it. You can get an idea about the massive bugs in the windows by the fact that Microsoft is going to release a 1GB file for bug fixes.
- Windows 10 forces the users for updates. It always keeps itself up to date. Whether it is a broken driver or a security component.
- Windows 10 has lost some classic features which were featured in windows 7 and 8. For example, the game of Solitaire and the Windows Media Centre has been removed. You can have them back from the windows store but they will have adds in them, which you can remove by paying.
- The mandatory update policy of the Windows increases data usage. The new OS uses a peer-to-peer (p2p) update distribution system called ‘Windows Update Delivery Optimization’ (WUDO).
Report On Windows 10:
Microsoft reported through it's official blog that Windows 10 had been installed on 14 Million devices across the world in just a span of 3 days after its release. It has been receiving good response from the critics. Microsoft also pointed out that many new upgrades are yet to come.
Microsoft might have noted it's plan to run the latest operating system for a long time. Hopefully, we will see Windows 10 reaching many more computers in the upcoming days.
